SURREALISM STUDY nr2: Premier of a really enjoyable collaboration with La Fil In the fantastic MUDEC in Milan last night: My ‘Surrealist Study Nr.2’ - a short collage-dream-piece for clarinet (or viola) & musique concrete, that will be performed every half hour every afternoon & evening in the middle of the current Surrealist exhibition. It was really interesting to delve into the world of the surrealist movement, explore their influences, methods, and philosophy - they were so important in opening the doors for all the rebellious & revolutionary art and music movements that followed…
Also, this marks the beginning of a relationship with the remarkable new Italian orchestra: La Fil. Only founded in 2019, and leading a new approach to how an orchestra can be more relevant to contemporary life.
