Prokofiev Studio - opening event // 30th April
Happy to share some exciting news - which is that over the last few months I’ve been busy helping set-up a new cross-arts studio space in Hackney, East London: Prokofiev Studio. The original plan was to create a home for the big archive of my father, Oleg Prokofiev’s art-work. My three sisters and me found a really special space hidden on a side-street in Dalston, which has the potential to be much more than just an archive; hosting exhibitions, poetry readings, chamber music, listening parties, film screenings. I’m also hoping to host evenings where visual-artists, composers, writers, film-makers can share ideas, and hopefully try to encourage more community and discussion between art-forms - something that doesn’t happen enough in these screen-focused days.
30th April - Private View of first public exhibition, with introductory speeches by Gabriel Prokofiev & curator Anzhela Popova. 1st-30th May Group Show: Oleg Prokofiev + Valentino Vannini + Kiril Basalaev.
